using nordvpn with their ovpn config file (both tcp and udp) i got no port connection.

anyway around to bypass this, probably my country blockin their opvn servers

Your question was literally answered in the page before me and actually even as an unintentional response to another question I had.

NordVPN does not allow Port Fowarding. You will never get an open 'connectable' connection. I suggest Mullvad, they are who I have moved to.

I want to set to a specific number for simultenaous download/upload slots.

For example lets just say i added 5 torrents in client and before that i set to simultenaous download slot to 3.

I want to rtorrent work like this:

torrent1 -> downloading

torrent2 -> downloading

torrent3 -> downloading

torrent4 -> in queue

torrent5 -> in queue

i added

max_downloads_global = 3 in rtorrent.rc but it didnt work.

but the mentioned setting scheduler.max_active.set in above link is very weird kind of way to work.

it doesn't just limit downloading but uploading(seeding) as well.

I found a QueueManager plugin for this, but no idea how to implement in this container.

Would you maybe consider to add this in your next version?

Use this repo until it is fixed:

Repository: binhex/arch-rtorrentvpn:0.9.7-1-11

It is the version before it broke.

Like this:

I'm in the same boat, I pulled down the latest container today and I can't get it back up. That repository goes in the docker-compose or the docker run right?

I just restored my docker container persistent folder from earlier this morning and changed the compose to point to an older version of the container and it still won't come up..

I think I'm just going to pin a version in my docker-compose from now on. This has happened to me at least 5 or 6 times. It happened for me on 10/4 and 8/24

Had to quit using Flood entirely. Doesn't seem to work at all anymore. Not sure why. I did like flood.

Also, as a request - I'd like to see the rpc socket also forwarded so that applications like Electorrent can use the docker.

EDIT:
Nevermind, ruTorrent isn't working now either. Whelp.
And that's after rolling back a version. Gonna try one of the other base rtorrent dockers and a separate flood/rutorrent docker from dockerhub. Not sure what's happening or why at this point.

Here is what I did to fix this - it doesn't make sense, but it works and it took me about 2 hrs.

1. stop broken container

2. mv the persistent data store to a folder the container is not watching. mv /opt/docker/rtorrent /opt/docker/rtorrent_save OR restore the persisent folder from backup using older docker image

3. recreate the blank container directory - use the same user and the container pid.

4. edit the compose file to point to an older docker tag - I think somebody had the tip for that above in unraid

5. start the container (WITHOUT SESSION DATA) - it'll probably fail because you don't have vpn there

6. add vpn back

7. make sure that you can see rutorrent, but with no torrent session data. this step was always important and has worked for me in the past.

8. switch the persisent folders back to the original - or restore that from a backup before the container was updated

sorry guys this caught me at a bad time, automated update picked up a new build with a library that wasn't included in the base, so to prevent this happening i am updating to target live repo from now on, means larger images but should prevent breakage in the future.

so ive just tested my changes and looks good, please pull down the latest image, if you are still getting issues then please follow this procedure:-

Hi,

I have been reading every post in this tread. But I am still confused, so hope someone will help. I am trying to run BOTH delugevpn and rtorrentvpn at the same time. Delugevpn works great, and I used It's vpn configuration (I am using PIA) as a basic for my docker run for rtorrentvpn. But I can't get rtorrentvpn to run. I have no port conflicts that I can see in the docker files (assuming that VPN port is allowed to be the same 1194 on both). I have disabled privoxy on rtorrentvpn as they where conficting.

If I stop the deluge container, and totally delete the rtorrent container and all its configuration files in /config (except from the openvpn directory), and then recreate it, SOMETIMES I can access flood on port 3000.

Any help would be appreciated.

btw, I NEED to run both deluge and rtorrent

Trying to get this run with PIA/OpenVPN. I put in the right username and password for VPN p203XXXX and pass. Same I use to log into site. I put files in the right place. If VPN enabled it will not run. If i disable it pulls up fine. Tells me for sure something wrong with my VPN settings.
