Maybe check the contents of that file after you set it in the UI, if it's not updating maybe it's a permission issue, you could try deleting the .dat file and it may create a new one.

it does not seem to change the files when I make changes to the ui.

Well, I figured it out. I took a closer look at the ratio.dat file and it does in fact save my changes. I even restarted the container and it the changes were maintained. I reported that it did not save incorrectly above.

I loaded ruTorrent ui with another browser and lo and behold, the ratio groups were there with my changes. When i went into my original browser (firefox) it did not have the changes. I reloaded the page without cage and it worked. So this appears perhaps to have been a browser cache issue more than anything.

apologies for the confusion.

I'm trying to log into Flood to get to rtorrent and its saying "network error" when I put my creds in. Ive been using this docker forever, so this is a bit odd to me. What does it mean?

i was force to switch from the only github release of flood to latest commit from the master branch, thus there were a lot of changes, not all of which look to be compatible with the configuration generated for the release, so in short if you wish to continue using flood then you will need to delete the old config and allow flood to re-create the configuration and then obviously re-configure again, its a bit shit i know but there is literally nothing i can do about it.

I had the same problem, was able to fix it by deleting users.db in the flood config and restarting the container. It asked for new connection credentials and the method of connecting to the instance.

Thanks for the help guys. I was able to get the connection screen but Im not sure what information to put in because it says it cant find rtorrent. Ive tried all of the ports that are mapped to the docker, 9080, 9440, 5000, 8118..

What information do I need to put in here? Its been so long since Ive had to set flood up, I honestly cant remember.

This looks like a great Docker image but I'm failing to get out the blocks. It just stalls.

Using Synology and Torguard. I've got several other apps running in Docker ok, including rtorrent, rutorrent and Flood (currently switched off). This is my first with a VPN.

Anyone know why it might be stalling at this point?

First time attempting flood install, I feel like I'm missing a step...

why do you say that? looks like a successful start to me, what exactly is the issue?

Accessing the WebUI is just blank.

Is there a different port for Flood?

Edit: answered my own question.

Yes, its 3000

Edit 2:

FYI, rTorrent port in the next step is 5000.

Hi binhex -- I had been running Flood with rtorrent for a while, and recently decided that I wanted to enable both. Once, I did however, I got the infamous

[info] Waiting for rTorrent process to start listening on port 5000...

error. I have tried deleting rtorrent.rc, and all other steps you have mentioned before. I was wondering if you had any other suggestions. Here is my log with DEBUG enabled.

Mine has stopped downloading or uploading anything this morning, when logging in everything looks fine and I can interact with the webui until I try to delete something and the docker crashes and restarts.

Is there a memory issue? I currently have 200 torrents in there.

you might have dodgy memory on your host, try running memtest for 24 hours, if you see ANY errors then thats your issue.

I'm running ECC memory.

Restoring the sessions folder to the one from the previous docker has allowed everything to work again.

I'll see what happens when I reach 200 again.

just cos its ECC doesn't mean it cant go bad, excellent that you got it running again, but you gotta ask the question, why did the sessions file get corrupted, and bad ram is one of those causes.

Would I not see corruption elsewhere?

I can't easily take the server down for 24 hours whilst I run a memtest.

I use these advanced settings, I don't know if they may be detrimental to rtorrent in a docker environment?

# Advanced Settings

pieces.memory.max.set = 2048M

network.http.max_open.set = 99

trackers.numwant.set = 100

network.receive_buffer.size.set = 4M

network.send_buffer.size.set = 12M

pieces.preload.type.set = 2

pieces.preload.min_size.set = 262144

pieces.preload.min_rate.set = 5120
