Is there anyway to get to these folders

Featured Replies

Im trying to follow

guide to add more channels to plex, but i need access to these folders to drop the files into.

I cant seem to find where the usr/local/plexmediaserver folder is located so im assuming since i installed a plugin through unraid that i wont find it using a VM. anyway is there a way to get to these folders so i can potentially drop these files there?

I don't use Plex BUT are you sure these folders are not mapped to the host in Docker settings? Usually all the important ones are.

If not I could tell you how to get to these folders but it would be useless as once you restart the docker (if it is auto updating) or update it (if it is not) then the content you place in these folders would not be persistent (in that they would not survive this update / restart process).

What Docker are you using for Plex?

EDIT: Assuming of course you ARE using docker, which really you SHOULD be!

Im not using a docker im using a plug-in. I could never be able to get the docker to work so i just defaulted to the plug in seemed alot easier than trying to make something to work

Since you're using a plugin (presumably PhAzE), you're going to have to ask him in his support thread, as I'm fairly sure (could be wrong) that his installation folder does not match what Plex normally matches in a non-unRaid environment (to avoid dependency hell)

When you installed Plex via Phaze Plugin, you installed it to RAM memory location (usr/local/plexmediaserver), not to a cache drive or array drive.  You need to change you installation location (which should be giving you a big warning on the plugin setup screen) otherwise every time you reboot your server, your Plex install will be lost along with all of your setup configuration.

wow i noticed that but ignored it and never knew there would be any type of consequences.

Thanks alot! Can you tell me how or where to move the installation folder to? i know you said cache but do i have to type the exact directory?

Better to store it on the Cache drive (via a Cache only share). I would NOT store Plex to the Flash Drive, Plex would kill it.
