How to map ata#.00 to sd#?

Featured Replies

I'm seeing some lines in my log file that which look like possible issues with my SATA cables ... links are being hard reset periodically.  Is there a way to determine which sd drive letter maps to the "ata#" in the log file?  I don't know which disk(s) these are referring to:

Yes there is. You need to look earlier in the syslog, where devices are iterated.

On the main page in the GUI, you can click on the disk icon of each disk (disk log information) and see error messages related to the corresponding ata and sd devices.

Nice!

How long has that feature been there?  I have never noticed it myself or seen it mentioned in the forum.

Since version 6.1.5

Version 6.1.5 2015-11-30
------------------------
- emhttp: fix action of 'Parity is already valid' to not initiate correcting parity check following 'New Config'
- pcre: 8.38 (SSA:2015-328-01)
- udev rule: set deadline scheduler for non-rotating disks
- webGui:  Remove external resources from progress pages; eliminates Docker add/update apparent "hangs"
- webGui: integrate bergware changes:
  - Replace Windows Vista logo with Windows 7 logo
  - Disable ComputeAll button when no shares are available
  - Make "empty share message" the same for both disk and user shares
  - Add parity-check history functionality
  - Add disk log functionality
  - Enhanced SMART global and per disk settings

Perhaps will get more visibility now  :)

I must admit that even if I had noticed that entry in the change log (I did not :( ), I would not have realised quite what it meant and how to activate the functionality.  I can certainly see it being mentioned more in the forum going forward, and maybe it will also get mentioned in some of the wiki entries.
