[Solved... mostly] Disk disabled, but passes extended SMART check?

Featured Replies

Yup... just finished rebuilding the array after upgrading a 1TB disk to a 3TB disk... next disk disabled. I captured the diagnostics (attached) before powering down to check my cable connections. When I powered it back up the drive showed up, but with a red X still. So I ran an extended SMART check which it says it passed (also attached).

Any ideas? I'm going to recheck both ends of the SATA cables in my case.

Edit: After rechecking the cabling, I stumbled on the method of stopping the array, remove the disabled drive, start the array, stop the array, add the drive and let the array rebuild, seems to be fine so far.
