Unraid Pro v5 to V6 to many devices assigned

Featured Replies

I have a virtual Unraid server using ESXI.  I had a functioning virtual Unraid V5.5.  I followed the upgrade tutorial to move to V6.  V6 appears to be running but I cannot start the array with the error " Too many attached devices. Please consider upgrading your registration key".  I moved my registration key from the V5.5 to the V6 config folder.  my key file was lkocated in the V5.5 config file call Pro1.key.

Any ideas?

The process I followed was

1.  Make a backup to my work station.

2.  Format USB "UNRAID"

3.  Extract V6 to newly formatted drive.

4.  Restore .cfg files

5.  copy Pro1.key to config.

6.  Make a .vmdk (upload to Esxi to replace the 5.5 version.

7.  Started the Virtual Unraid.

The web gui is up.  Under the Key section "Flash GUI ID:" is blank.

Any Ideas?

You need to map less devices to the virtual unraid, remove any optical drives and nonarray drives including any USB data devices until you get below the devices count for your license.

I ended up resolving this issue.  It was my mistake.  I forgot to rename my flash drive from UNRAID to another name when I cloned it for use in my virtual setup.  Thanks for any help you provided.

I wondered how you could get this error, as the Pro key does NOT have any restrictions on the total number of devices (the lower-level licenses do).

Glad it's resolved.
