April 9, 201610 yr So I will be upgrading the mobo on my server in a few days and was wondering what the best process is to do this. I currently running version 6.1.9 and using the SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 but I won't be using it when I upgrade. Do I remember correctly that unRAID no longer cares about drive order? So all I should need to do is swap out the mobo and hook up the drives and boot it up or is there something else I need to do? Current system in my sig, new board is a Supermicro Motherboard FlexATX SoC with Intel Xeon processor D-1537 1.7GHz-2.3GHz 8-Core, FCBGA 1667 Thanks, first upgrade in 5 years.

You got it right. unRaid tracks the drives by serial number and not by controller
April 9, 201610 yr Community Expert Still a good idea to get a printout of the drive assignments on the Main Page. I would also suggest that you turn off the array autostart ('Settings', 'Disk Settings' and 'Enable auto start:') before the upgrade so that you can verify that the parity drive and cache drive are correctly assigned before starting the array.
