Hide devices by PCI address

Featured Replies

Since you have now added an easier way of hiding devices and making it available to choose in a VM Template with the vfio-pci.ids=vendor:product, it would be nice to have something that also works for devices that have the same vendor/product id.

The use case for me is for forwarding of IPTV multicast, as I need one NIC connected to the IPTV port of the router and another for my local LAN. Pfsense use could also benefit from this, as well as easier pass through of onboard USB controllers.

I have tested this on the 6.2 beta21 and it works.

The solution is to use this in addition to vfio-pci.ids

xen-pciback.hide=(00:00.0)

This will bind the device to the pciback kernel module.

I don't know how easy this is to add to your code, but in my head it shouldn't be that hard  ;)
