[Help] Install new Docker with Dockerfile without Template?

Featured Replies

Either my Google skills went down the drain or there isn't a post for this. But, I cannot seem to find out how to setup a docker/template if I have a Dockerfile. Maybe I'm going with the wrong approach, but not sure.

I would like to install this MineOS-Node :

https://github.com/hexparrot/mineos-node

There is a Dockerfile, but not sure what to do with it. I have Community Applications installed.

Thank you for your help!

Right. But, I couldn't find out how to go from that to a running docker container since there is no template (that I'm aware of).

EDIT: Or do I make the template with Add Container, and point the repo to that page?

EDIT x2: Seems to be on the right track, I have the error for: "Tag latest not found in repository .." so trying to figure that one out.

Follow up: Read the tags section and saw no "latest" one so had to declare that specifically.

There's also already a MineOS docker that is already in CommunityApplications and has support thread here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39623.0

The one already there uses a slightly different version of MineOS and uses Java 7, so some things start to behave weirdly. I did try it though!

As per the instructions you want to append :node-jessie to the repository

Yeah I found that out, I was unsure what went where when making the template. It's now downloading the required files and seems to be working well.

Thanks for the help!

Also CA has a node where it will also try and create templates for any docker file out there (enable docker hub searches)  not always successful but it works more often than not

I tried enabling that, but it didn't seem to find the mineos (Node version). Not sure if I have to do a full reload after enabling that or not. Maybe that's why it didn't find it.

You have to hit get more results from docker hub after you search.  It would have failed in this anyways since it can't determine tags
