April 11, 201610 yr Dear All I'm currently experiencing a big problem trying to delete multiple files from my unraid. I have 2,500 photo's i'm trying to delete, each photo is around 15-20mb in size. I've tried to select all then delete, but after 12 hrs i canceled the process and they were all still on the unraid. If it helps i'm using a mac. I've even tried to use Dolphin app on unraid it wont even delete 1 file. I don't received any error messages either. Can anyone please advise what the problem might be? Thanks John

April 11, 201610 yr What happens if you try smaller chunks, like 100 at at time? And are you using SMB or AFP?

April 11, 201610 yr Author Update if it helps. I managed to delete one file, it took around 2 mins to delete (wifi) connection to unraid? I tried another file (4mb) so far 6 mins and i'm still waiting
April 11, 201610 yr Ok, I'm not an expert reading these but it looks like there may be a problem with the Maxtor drive or file system. "Warning! SMART ATA Error Log Structure error: invalid SMART checksum." In the past I've had issues when trying to delete a sparse bundle it would take forever then I would abort and it would leave that file in a bad state and the only way to delete from there was in terminal using the "rm" command. I don't use sparse bundles anymore just sparse image files. I'd wait for someone how knows more about theses reports.
April 11, 201610 yr Author Update: Interestingly I can delete ok from a windows machine, 12gb within a few mins. But this is wired, I'll check wifi from the windows machine then work back to my Mac, could be a network issue? John
April 12, 201610 yr Which Mac OS are you using? I routinely delete 8GB files, TV Shows, In EyeTV from 10.6.8 via SMB and it only takes a few seconds. As a test I deleted an 11.75GB file via SMB using the finder and it took 2 seconds.
