February 3, 20188 yr try to find out what a cable model it is. i have the same Mellanox card, ubiquity ES-16-XG switch , and it refuses to connect with Cisco Active DACs, but works just fine with Brocade Active DACs..
February 3, 20188 yr Author I don't have mine setup through a switch, mine are directly connected to each other but using a switch shouldn't be that difficult.
February 3, 20188 yr This is what i get... so its reads that the cable is plugged in but it wont give it a IP Edited February 3, 20188 yr by zerolim1t
February 3, 20188 yr but light on the card side is blinking? just verified on my switch - a have very similar CISCO-TYCO cables. as i wrote, they don't work with my mellanox cards, but is working just fine with Brocade cards. are you on latest switch firmware?
February 3, 20188 yr i dont know how to update the firmware on the card. Would that help? i am on the latest firmware on the switch
February 3, 20188 yr i meant switch firmware... but lights on the card side is blinking? i'm out of ideas then..
February 7, 20188 yr Author The latest firmware for the switch is here https://www.ubnt.com/download/edgemax/edgeswitch-16-xg. If you google your switch and the card/cables you own it seems that the Ubiquity switch doesn't play well with active DAC cables and AUTO negotiate settings. Have you tried setting them up manually? (try to give it a static IP) Also, I always use passive cables since I would just use fiber if I had longer runs. https://community.ubnt.com/t5/EdgeSwitch/ES-16-XG-SFP-DAC-cable-hell/td-p/1683163/page/2

January 8, 20224 yr update: So i swapped slots with my HBA and that did the trick. Unraid sees the card. I setup a test network drive in windows. My 1gig connection is rock solid. now the same file to the same location but over the 10gb and windows locks up. if i get any transfer speed its in the low kb range...any thoughts?
