April 15, 201610 yr I noticed today that my parity drive was disabled and had errors. I also noticed that the parity drive itself wasn't even showing up in the Unraid dashboard. I did the usual, checked drive connections and replaced the SATA and power cables with a reboot. The drive now shows back up again in Unraid, But of course it's still disabled which I'm assuming has to do with the parity sync now being incorrect. My question is should I purchase a new drive or just attempt to rebuild the parity? I have attached the diagnostic report, I'm not very smart of HD's but of course don't want to risk losing any data if this drive is faulty. Please advise and thanks! unraid-diagnostics-20160415-1017.zip

April 15, 201610 yr Author SMART is disable for your parity disk, enable it and post a SMART report. This one is beyond me I guess. I don't see anything in the unraid menu for this.
April 15, 201610 yr Community Expert On the console/ssh type: smartctl -s on /dev/sdc Then grab a SMART report or new diagnostics.
April 15, 201610 yr Author On the console/ssh type: smartctl -s on /dev/sdc Then grab a SMART report or new diagnostics. Yeah, I guess I'm still lost. Looked all over the unraid menu options and see nothing that says console....

April 15, 201610 yr Community Expert Disk looks OK, there are some "high fly writes" but I would try to use the same disk, if it fails again replace it.
April 15, 201610 yr Author Ok. Now the next question is how do I get the drive to enable? Looking threw support I only see guides for old versions of unRaid.
April 15, 201610 yr Author Nevermind, I just tried the version 4.7 instructions and they seem to still be valid with 6.xx. Thanks for the help, It's rebuilding parity now. I just ordered a 8TB drive just in case.......Don't want to risk it. Thanks again!
