Network timeouts during large writes

Featured Replies

Lately I've been experiencing a large number of network timeouts during large file writes to my media share. I'm using Win7 x64 file explorer to move files from my pc to UnRAId server. Attached is the diagnostics package just after another failed write. I get a network error dialog with "try again" or "cancel" options. Try again never seems to work and I have immediate access to the server once the cancel dialog completes.

Edit: So I've noticed that even if I hit cancel, the file immediately disappears from the destination folder but then reappears?!  I've confirmed the file is complete by doing a byte comparison and since it's an ISO, I've successfully mounted it from my server and played it back on my pc?! Why would Windows report an error?

Make sure your share has the cache drive enabled and you are writing to it. I had this problem for 2~ years and that was my only solution. Direct writing to shares almost always resulted in random timeouts.
