Skylake does some things well, others not so well.  If you need an upgrade anyway then you should evaluate Skylake.  Is it so awesome that you need to upgrade ASAP, regardless of what you have now?  No, I don't think so.  It's an incremental improvement and in some cases Haswell is still the better buy.

Depends.

Depends on? I am looking at the g4400 pentium. Is there a skylake itx mother board with 8 x sata ports?

Depends on what you want, and what you're using it for.

Then no  ;D Upgrade should be a "need" and not a "want".  ;D

Well, I hope you wants it a lot because I don't see any real reason to upgrade from a G2030 to a G4400 ::).

I just want to reduce power consumption, go from matx to itx and use a smaller case.

How much power are you using at idle now?  That motherboard probably isn't too efficient, but the rest of the setup looks nice.

54 watts idle
