Kodi "dropping" Unraid Shares

Featured Replies

Hi, I am using a Kodi machine that mounts unraid shares on startup and then uses it as media sources.

It has worked very well for years now. All of a sudden I am facing issues where when I open up lets say, a movie folder in file view, kodi becomes very slow. Then the media list becomes blank as though the content is unavailable and then comes back again. It's as though the drive mounted on startup temporarily becomes unavailable. In the unraid logs I am not able to see anything unusual. However this started after the unraid box started misbehaving recently and just going off the network. I had to hard reset the box and the parity check would show errors.

Doubting a faulty RAM, I am also currently running just 2Gb of memory rather than 4 to try and isolate the faulty memory stick. To make amends I have switched off memory hogging docker containers like Plex etc. Even the dashboard does not show unusually high cpu or memory usage.

Anyone else experienced this? Any tips to resolve?

What makes you think it is UR.  Have you installed kodi on another machine and duplicated the symptoms?

Your topic is nothing that I can help you with.  However, I am jumping in and going to say that I (personally) found your post most confusing.  Do you have one computer or two?  Which computer are you having trouble with and which one did you remove a memory stick from?  I feel that you will get more responses if it is clearer exactly what your setup is, what your issues are and with what hardware.
