CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU X5690 @ 3.47GHz

GPU:  ASUS GTX-680

HVM: Enabled

IOMMU: Enabled

Cache: 384 kB, 1536 kB, 12288 kB

Memory: 32768 MB (max. installable capacity 96 GB)

Network: bond0: fault-tolerance (active-backup), mtu 1500

eth0: 100Mb/s, Full Duplex, mtu 1500

eth1: not connected

Kernel: Linux 4.4.6-unRAID x86_64

OpenSSL: 1.0.2g

Sound:  Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller

Dockers: None

VM: 1 (Windows 10 Pro)

When I pass through the sound card at random times it causes everything to lock up.  As long as the sound card is not mapped, no issues.

Board has latest BIOS.  I added IOMMU=PT to the syslinux.cfg file.  I will undo my changes to syslinux.cfg and make the ghanges in the GO file.

syslinux.cfg

default /syslinux/menu.c32

menu title Lime Technology, Inc.

prompt 0

timeout 50

label unRAID OS

  menu default

  kernel /bzimage

  append intel_iommu=on iommu=pt pcie_acs_override=downstream initrd=/bzroot

label unRAID OS GUI Mode

  kernel /bzimage

  append intel_iommu=on iommu=pt pcie_acs_override=downstream initrd=/bzroot,/bzroot-gui

label unRAID OS Safe Mode (no plugins, no GUI)

  kernel /bzimage

  append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode

label Memtest86+

  kernel /memtest

Ok, I was not sure how to add the kernel options to the GO file so I modified syslinux.cfg.  It did not effect the virtual machine or unraid, as soon as virtual machine uses the sound card everything locks up.

default /syslinux/menu.c32

menu title Lime Technology, Inc.

prompt 0

timeout 50

label unRAID OS

  kernel /bzimage

  append vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 iommu=pt pcie_acs_override=downstream initrd=/bzroot

label unRAID OS GUI Mode

  menu default

  kernel /bzimage

  append vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 iommu=pt pcie_acs_override=downstream initrd=/bzroot,/bzroot-gui

label unRAID OS Safe Mode (no plugins, no GUI)

  kernel /bzimage

  append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode

label Memtest86+

  kernel /memtest

GO file

So should I be able to pass the system sound card or is this not going to work.
