Splitting RPM sensor on fans

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a vary loud switch that is running 6 30mm fans.  I found that I can remove the fans and everything will still work but the fan error light will stay on all the time.  My original plan was to mod the case and install 3 120mm fans with external power to keep everything cool and reduce how loud it is.  But, I found out the stock fans run on the same volts and amps as the 120s so I could wire the new fans in to the switch and not use an external power source.

My Question is, being that the switch will now have only 3 fans, can I split the RPM sensor on the fans to the switch?  Googling has not to helpful

Thanks

Yes, you can split the tach from one fan to 2 headers.... but JUST the tach signal.
