Question about spanning data across multiple drives

Featured Replies

My intention is to have a folder called "Media" with the contents of the folder spanned across multiple 4TB drives.  I first started out with two 4TB drives(one parity) and then I added another 4TB drive.  Since then it seems to only take up space on the first data disk and nothing is filling up on the 2nd. I've included a couple screenshots of how I have my disks setup.  What am I doing wrong, and is there a way to make both disks start to use up the same amount of space.

Dashboard view, showing that disk 1 is almost full and disk 2 barely has anything on it.

Shot of my plex setup, where the media is on disk1, and plex config is on disk 2.

Shot of the settings tab in Sonar, it says there is 200GB free, which means it is only using the 1st disk.

Also is this even a good idea if possible, but can I somehow migrate data over to other disks and spread out where all the data resides.  Or should I not care which actual disk data sits on?

To do what you want you need to change the allocation method to "most free".

With high-water, it will fill once disk up to 50%; then switch to the other disk until it's at 50%; then switch back to the first until 50% of the remaining space is used; etc.

You volume mapping is wrong, change from "mnt/disk1/Media" to "mnt/user/Media".

Also check settings > global share settings and make sure you're not excluding disk2.
