May 1, 201610 yr Just installed Nvidia 8400GS into my motherboard ASRock B85M Pro4. For some reason PCI devices doesn't see the graphics card but the card works (it's spinning and worked on other computers builds before). I'm not sure if I need to do anything on the bios but so far nothing. I am on onboard graphics now (hdmi from motherboard will show the unraid console screen) and the vga card is still plugged in. What is preventing it from detecting the card? The card itself, motherboard, bios, or unraid? I was planning to use vga to run a Ubuntu VM and output to hdmi (Plex/Steam streaming) Here are my information: PCI Devices 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor DRAM Controller (rev 06) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06) 00:03.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller (rev 06) 00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family USB xHCI (rev 05) 00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 (rev 04) 00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I217-V (rev 05) 00:1a.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family USB EHCI #2 (rev 05) 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05) 00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port #1 (rev d5) 00:1c.3 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev d5) 00:1c.4 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port #5 (rev d5) 00:1d.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family USB EHCI #1 (rev 05) 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation B85 Express LPC Controller (rev 05) 00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family 6-port SATA Controller 1 [AHCI mode] (rev 05) 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller (rev 05) 02:00.0 PCI bridge: ASMedia Technology Inc. May 1, 201610 yr Community Expert Have you read the unRIAD 6 manual and this section: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/UnRAID_Manual_6#Assigning_Graphics_Devices_to_Virtual_Machines_.28GPU_Pass_Through.29 I don't know if it addresses your issue but it is a place to start. There is also more information in the upgrade WIKI which you can see here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrading_to_UnRAID_v6#Plugins.2C_Dockers.2C_and_VMs
May 1, 201610 yr Author Thanks but sadly I have not reach the VM part yet, since it's not being detected by unraid.. I guess the only other option is to get another gpu and test it out, just to make sure that slot is working
May 5, 201610 yr Author Not yet, since the other slot (pcie2) is occupied by a sata card. I will try to swap the pcie2 (sata) and the pcie3 (gpu) cards this weekend and see how it goes. If it works then.. it's better than nothing! :\
