Move from Single Cache Drive to Pool?

Featured Replies

I currently have a single Samsung 840 256GB cache drive (btrfs)

I don't use it for cache purposes, but it has all my VM vdisk images and appdata for my dockers/plug ins.

Now I have got another 840GB 256GB and I want to have a btrfs raid1 cache, to add some protection to the cache drive.

What is the correct procedure for this? Do I need to format both drives and start over or can this be done keeping the current data intact?

I'm on the latest Beta.

Thanks for any help.

If you current cache disk is btrfs you just need to add the second disk to the pool and start array to begin auto balance.

Always a good idea to backup you cache disk before in case something goes wrong.
