Unraid 6.2b21 randomly freezeing during file copy.

Featured Replies

Today it happened again, while moving files from the cache drive to the array the process stopped and the GUI froze. I did use windows to move files.

As with the previously reported issue I was able to telnet into the server and this time diagnostics command worked, I looked into but could not find anything pointing to the root cause.

The system had to be reset to come back online. Parity did not kick-in although I had to use the reset button.

The bad part is that the files that were supposed to be moved until the system froze did not make it to the destination folder and are gone from the source folder

As much as I like to use the beta for the second parity option loosing files is not acceptable  - moving back to 6.1.9 :(

While not related to your problem, you do have some path issues with your docker containers:

where you are not passing through absolute paths (ie: they must start with / )

You are right, I had that issue yesterday, with one of my dockers.  It is solved now.

From the ps report, the 3 busiest processes -

root    10321    1  8 May01 ?        10:56:48 /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -name Ubuntu16 ...

root    16357    1 94 Apr28 ?        7-12:11:40 /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -name OpenELEC ...

nobody  25696 25694  1 May02 ?        01:55:40 mono /opt/NzbDrone/NzbDrone.exe ...

All of the rest show 0 CPU, at that moment.  The C column for CPU usage totals more than 100, don't understand why, but I'm surprised you got Diagnostics out of it at all!  So OpenELEC is the runaway train here.  I have no clue how it relates to your issues.

Your Docker setup is configured to use /mnt/user/, both docker.img and appdata.  I understand that should normally be /mnt/cache or some other drive.  You should try Squid's new plugin Fix Common Problems.

Your smb-extra.conf configures the Recycle Bin 5 times, each one identically.

May  2 00:16:08 Tower kernel: TCP: request_sock_TCP: Possible SYN flooding on port 8080. Sending cookies.  Check SNMP counters.

At midnight each night, you're getting the 'Possible SYN flooding' warning.  (The above is a sample.)

I don't see any other issues, so I would examine what might have started in OpenELEC. (I assume you saw my other post in response to your first about the freezes.)

Thank you guys for the help on this one.

I started to address the issues listed here and in the beta21 thread - sorry Rob I missed your post there.

  • 5 weeks later...

The main issue *sounds* like the one fixed by the num_stripes workaround, and fixed in 6.2-beta22.  If or when you have a chance, can you confirm that beta22 fixes the problem?  (just trying to do some maintenance on this folder)

I just installed 6b22 and should have some time this weekend to test.

No more freezing after updating to b22 and b23.

Did several file transfer large and small files and everything did work OK, the OpenELEC VM is still running high in processor usage :( but no issues as of now.
