Half my drives SPIN, and half my drives PARK.  Having recently had my first failure, I'm curious about others' experience.  MY failed drive- wasn't set to park...

    Interesting question. The two drives in my My Cloud are always running. The drives in my unRAID Server are spin down. But, i really don´t know what is the right way...

    And to build upon uncertainty, the ONE drive I [have] had fail- was Hitachi....commonly regarded among the most reliable brand.  Go-figure.
