"End Kernel Panic - VFS Unable to Mount Root fs on unknown block"

Featured Replies

Hi, I have encountered an unusual error today. I usually have unraid running with a Windows VM which I remote to, I noticed that the VM was unavailable so went to the physical server to find it powered off. I do not know how/why it was powered off (it could have been a power cut) but when I tried to boot it up, unraid did not start normally and I recieved the following error.

"end kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to Mount Root fs on unknown block 0,0"

I cannot even get onto the unraid web interface to see/change any settings.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I'd start by removing the unRAID boot flash and plugging it into another computer and running a disk check on it, as it might have been corrupted by the power outage.
