Unraid 5 Fails to Load - ldlinux.c32

Featured Replies

So I am trying to make use of an old PC I have laying around.  It is an old dual core Intel 32bit system with a 1TB HD.  I downloaded Unraid 5 from the official downloads site, and ran the make bootable routine, but it will not load up in my PC.  I get an error that says Unraid failed to load ldlinux.c32  I tried formatting the thumbdrive as FAT16 and FAT32, but it still won't load up.  I know the thumbdrive works, but I cannot get it to boot up in the PC.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I have already set the BIOS to boot the removable media (aka thumbdrive) so that cannot be the problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you name the volume when you formatted it to UNRAID all caps?

Yeah, made sure that was right.  So I went back to the beginning and formatted my thumbdrive, named it UNRAID, copied the UNRAID files to the thumbdrive and used the make bootable (mac) script.  Once that completed, I popped it back into my computer, and I am now getting this error:

ERROR:  No configuration file found

no DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found!

boot:  _

Thoughts?

Alright, not sure what happened (heard that before, right?), but I took a stab at installing UnRaid 6 on a new flashdrive, and it booted just fine!  I threw away that old drive and have my new server up and running.  Totally weird.
