May 19, 201610 yr Hi I'm new to unraid. Still working out if it can work for me. What i can't seem to get a good idea of is after i make a disk array how do i then mount disks i have in cold storage and copy the data off them onto my array? How Can i just mount disks as single drives for back up and restore purposes?
May 19, 201610 yr Check out the Unassigned Devices Plugin. It will let you mount disks outside of the array for copy/backup/restore.
May 19, 201610 yr Author Thanks heaps for that. That's exactly what i was looking for. Now i know why i couldn't find it in unraid. Guess i should be looking for plugins when i can't find the functionality i want.

Guess i should be looking for plugins when i can't find the functionality i want. If it is NAS functionality them probably a plugin. If you want applications to run on your server you should look for dockers. And one of the first plugins you should install is Community Applications. It will make it easier for you to find and install both plugins and dockers.
