unRAID dropping NFS connection?

Featured Replies

I have NFS exports from my unRAID box and notice that it dropps the connection from time to time. This happens with different hardware and OS clients (like PCH C-200 and Mac OS X), so it must be the unRAID box. Using 4.5 final. Anyone having similar?

I haven't got them to work with my C200 at all........

Uff, why not? If you have a firewall or so in between try nfs-udp. I have it working with standard nfs over tcp, however I experience some tropouts from time to time. At the moment I am investigating why, otherwise it works fine. I like the nfs ability to reconnect to the server.

When I do nfs stuff on the unRAID box (mostly as a client, copying things from other NAS'es) it works very well and very stable. Actually it is unRAID as nfs *server* that has some issues.

I just put it down to the flakey C200 FW so haven't bothered to tinker any further than setting the "export (NFS)" to "*(rw)" ! Maybe I will if you have it working.

Setting the "export (NFS)" to "*(rw)" means that any clients (*) have read-write (rw) access to this NFS share?! Are you sure you are not accessing your unRAID box from the C-200 via NFS?

No, I'm not accessing via NFS because when browsing NFS from the C200 it comes up with smome kind of connection an error message - not at home at the mo so can't quite remember what is says. SMB works "ok" (I say "ok" because my C200 won't play BluRay rips (in folder structure) from unRAID, but both my A100 and WD TV2 will !!). Playing from the C200 HDD work though.
