New to unRAID, Have some basic questions/concerns

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I recently started using Unraid when i switched from my banana pi to a dell poweredge t20 w/ the xeon e3 1225 v3. Unraid mostly worked perfect up till now. I want to start torrenting now but want to switch from transmission to deluge. I found several docker apps but i'm not sure which one to use. Is there any difference? I was leaning towards this https://hub.docker.com/r/aostanin/deluge/ one as the it was updated the most recent out of all the different versions. So my question is, is this one fine or is there a better one?

How can I monitor the power usage? as there is no apt-get I can't use powertop. Could anybody help me with this?

If i share a ..well, share via smb and access it from my macbook I lose connection after some time and unaid doesn't show up anymore for me on the network. The only way to fix this is to restart it. This didn't happen with my banana pi running omv so I'm pretty certain it's unraids fault. I don't want to use afp as apple stopped supporting it. Is this a common problem?

Thanks everybody!

Picking dockers directly from docker hub can be kind of hit or miss. Best to stick with dockers created and supported by unRAID users. Install the Community Applications plugin and it will help you find, choose, and install the hundreds of dockers supported by the unRAID community, including deluge.

I personally use my Cyberpower UPC to check power usage, but I don't do it very often and it's not super important to me.

I'm not sure if there is slackware package (64 bit for 6.0+) for powertop... if there is you could install it.

Now this actually does sound like a configuration issue, I'm not sure what it is as I don't use unRAID with a Mac, but I know other people do use it here, and that they don't seem to have this problem. Maybe one of them can chime in and help you diagnose what is going on.

I think they mostly use AFP which is a subpar solution as Apple stopped supporting 2 years ago and is only using it for backups now. I'll try to figure it out! Thanks!
