May 24, 201610 yr Currently setting up my server for full deployment after mesing with it for a few months now. Ive joined the ranks with the ASRock - EP2C60204L/D16 Xeon E5-2670's etc. My use case: I have been using DAC cisco cables between an Intel X520-DA2 (zfs backup server) and Mellanox Connectx-2 (windows 10 pro client) for transfers/uploads. Finally got my media all neatly arranged and ready for the stage of copying it over to the UNRAID server and take advantage of the unquie features. Query: i know there's some support and more to come in the next version. Ive ssh'd into the server and ran "ifconfig" it displays the eth's / bridges . However it does not show the 10gb nic. Ive also checked in the webGUI /Tools/SysDevs 81:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection [8086:10fb] (rev 01) 81:00.1 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection [8086:10fb] (rev 01) also done this via shell to check and its the same . So unraid know's it there but wont give me any more info in the ifconfig command. I've tried unbonding and just running a single cable from my 1gb port and still no further forward. Performance: From my windows client to the current zfs z2 raid to 6x4tb drives i'm getting a solid 450mbps from the ssd to the array. Ram disk test saw it spike at 750-780mbps. found the first bottle nexk on my pc was the 3tb oldest storage drive , thats restricted the transfer to 175mbp ceiling. I havent tried SSD on the server to see if the results are any better which i would of thought so. I am hoping to match or surpass these with the use of ssd cache array, nfs share/new samba package. That brings me to the last question about the ssd cache array on unraid would 2x480gb be enough or a different solution be more benefical for the data dumps. any help or guidence would great, i can give as much info as i can to help with this topic, just ask.
