I am getting repeated problems with disk errors, I've orered some new cables but I'm not sure whether I need to order a new controller, can anyone advise please?

    Looks like a bad SATA cable on disk16.

    Bad SATA cables usually cause CRC errors, not disk failures, that's the only error visible on your syslog, uptime is only 3 minutes, next time post complete diagnostics and grab them after a failure, not after a reboot.

    Reseated the cable, same problem.

    Fitted new cable, same problem.

    Used a spare SATA socket on the Mobo - problem fixed.

     

    Disappointing on a fairly new SuperMicro X10

     

    Too difficult to return it from Thailand for a warranty replacement  :(
