May 25, 201610 yr Hi i have been searching as i heard there was a plug in to allow encrypted images but i can't find a answer so i thought i would ask. Is there any way to have a share or folder or image encrypted? I would just like to store my photos and personal documents in there so you need a password to unlock them. Simalar to how synology handle it. Thanks in advance for any help.

What you can do is set the smb share to private and give read access to certain users so only they can access (with their username and password) over the network.

So are there no plug ins or anything to host encrypted images. I can do it inside a VM but that means setting it up for all users. Not a big deal i guess

May 26, 201610 yr Community Expert Not really a plugin, but you can create / mount Truecrypt volumes: Using Truecrypt in Unraid 5 and 6 Note that this technique doesn't provide anything to automatically unmount the volume when the array is stopping, so it will make the stop hang unless you take care of this manually beforehand or put the volume on an unassigned disk.
