I'm a little stuck now, I have done a few things to try and eliminate, but I'm hoping someone is able to give me some advise on what to look at / try next.

Would appreciate any advice :)

Thanks .

Joshua.

Probably a bad SATA cable.

You should always post the complete diagnostics zip.

Ah sorry ! I had the syslog ready to go and forgot to attach.

Also, if it is possibly a cable issue, how do I identify what controller/disk is having the issue? I wasn't sure from the errors how to identify the troublesome device.

syslog2.txt.zip

The CRC errors are reported by ata2 so, from your syslog, this is the disk whose cable you ought to check:

May 26 14:01:12 avalonea-fs kernel: ata2.00: ATA-8: WDC WD2002FAEX-007BA0,      WD-WMAY01965473, 05.01D05, max UDMA/133

Post your diagnostics zip, not just your syslog.

You didn't mentioned disk4 was disabled.

You're definitely getting UDMA_CRC errors on disks 4, 11 and 14, also possibly on disks 15, 16 and 17, check/replace SATA cables or controller.

SMART for disk4 looks OK, you may try to rebuild to the same disk after sorting the UDMA_CRC errors.
