tyrindor
Preferably cheap as possible. I have SSDs in both the source computer and on the server's cache drives, so I'd like to stop seeing that ~100MB/s cap when transferring lots of data. I have the computer next to the servers, so I shouldn't need an expensive switch. I need a 2 port for the computer and 2x 1 port for my two servers. There's a lot of used cards for $20-$50 on eBay and that's probably my best bet? Currently looking at buying these 2, as they should play nicely together being the same brand: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mellanox-MNPH29D-XTR-CONNECTX-2-10GBE-SFP-PCIE-No-SFP-/172209115328?hash=item28187690c0:g:6joAAOSw-RRXBoVa#shpCntId http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-OF-2-MNPA19-XTR-MELLANOX-CONNECTX-2-10GbE-ETHERNET-NETWORK-SERVER-ADAPTER-/182134018473?hash=item2a680891a9:g:M0oAAOSw3mpXEW0n Not really sure what "No SFP" means on the 2 port version. bubbaQ
Mellanox Connect X2 cards work well... just make sure you have a PCIe 2.0 (or 3.0) slot with at least 8 lanes. Just because it is an x8 or x16 SLOT does not mean it has 8 or more lanes... particularly if you have a mobo that accepts both a 28 lane or a 40 lane CPU. Quote Link to comment
