Odd Problem with LSI card

Featured Replies

Ok Ill try and explain this as best as I can.

I have a IBM ServeRAID M1015 card which has been crossflashed and running sweet.

I picked up a Dell H310 and flashed that to IT mode. Flashing was successful.... well I think it was in anycase.(First Pic)

Now here is the odd part.

Put the H310 into the second PCI Express slot and plug one of the drives into it..... boot..... no drive. No customary flashing green light on the card.

Shut down..... pull the IBM card out of the system..... plug the H310 into the exact same slot the IBM card was in.... plug a drive in.... boot.... no drive... no flashing light.

I know the PCI Express slot that it is plugged into works as the IBM is fine in that slot.

So off I go to my daily driver pc..... plug the H310 in and from what I can see.... I have green flashing light and when in Windows it shows up in device manager. (Second Pic)

Am I missing something here?

Probably a board incompatibility, you can look for a bios update but doubt it will work.

Something to check, are they all sata or all sas? I believe that controller freaks out with mixed scenario.

Also sorry to troll but for the m1015 do your drives spin down? If so what firmware so you have and any special bios controller settings? I can't get mine to spin down at p20.00.70
