May 29, 201610 yr Hello there! I just purchased Unraid and am discovering what it can do. While experimenting I ran into an issue - I was hoping to get rid of my router and use just an virtual machine for it. Unfortunately if I dont't have an Internet connection, my array won't start. It say's "problem with GUID, contact support". As soon as I connect the LAN cable it shows my registration just fine and I have no problems whatsoever. The question is thus: Does Unraid 6 need the Internet for licence verification? I was unable to find any recent information about this. The only forum post I found was about Unraid 5 and said that it should function just fine without Internet. Using a MB with dual NIC-s, one pci-stubbed and passed through to the VM, the other running bridge mode. If the array and VM-s do not start without Internet it cannot get an internet connection through the VM acting as a router. So it's a Catch 22. I want to thank the developers for creating an awsome piece of software and hoping that someone can answer my question.

Only during the 6.2 beta period ( http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=47408.0) and that's so that if a major bug happens to be discovered LT can automatically stop the array from starting. It has been stated that once 6.2 is out of beta then this check will no longer be done. This check should not be performed if you are running 6.1.9
May 30, 201610 yr Thanks! Waiting for 6.20 stable then. It could be a long wait. LT has a very strong tendency to fix all the known issues before releasing a stable version. And most developers have long stated that the last 10% of the 'bugs' take 95% of the time...
