June 8, 201610 yr As a note, vms are leaking memory badly right now My one vm has 12gb allocated and I've seen it using up to 18gb (run htop on the server to see) In my server I have an 8gb and 12gb vm and they use around 28gb between them after a few days What version of unraid? 6.1.9 here, and I have VM's in use daily and no sign of a leak. There is qemu memory overhead associated with managing each VM, but that does not grow uncontrollably over time, which is the definition of a leak. My VM's are stable over multiple weeks. Beta 21 which is what the op upgraded to, limetech still haven't resolved the issue so it will continue to happen but hasn't cause any issues to my system at all yet The vm will boot using 12gb and watching the system stats you can see the memory usage slowly climb from day to day and htop backs up the increase per vm
June 13, 201610 yr Author Update: After a weekend of rebuilding the system I got a some performance increase...as well as an extra 6TB lol However I made so many changes not sure what was the reason I went from 18 FPS and the feeling of everything "walking in mud" to 34 smooth gameplay Added bigger heatsink Rebuilt the VM on the new OS Pinned all CPUs but the first two Put Doom on it's own unassigned SSD (hoping that's not the reason, because DOOM is huge!) Oh, and apparently there is a know issue with Doom and an AMD/NVIDA combo, so I told it to use all CPUs Going to finish building my system and put it thru it's paces, but at least I can play DOOM smoothly, even if not the best it can be I'll keep you all posted And thanks for all the help, Mars thanks you
