Power failure and Unraid

I had my UPS go to overload today and noticed that when unraid came back up it is running a parity check.

Why does it do this and can it be avoided?

Thx

if unRAID did not shut down cleanly, it has no way of knowing parity is good, therefore, it must perform a parity check.

It cannot be avoided.

It can if your UPS triggers the linux under unraid to shutdown correctly before running out of power.  There are lots of other places in the forums discussing this.  But if unraid goes down without shutting down properly - it's going to run a parity check.
