Hi, I've a question regarding the set up of the application, basically when I put the address in the IP/host section i always get an error "please enter a valid ip address/hostname".

I use a dynamic dns so it's a third level domain

thank you

Hi @byographic,

Since you mention dynamic dns, it seems you're trying to connect remotely.

The app can connect remotely only if you have OpenVPN (or similar) set up in your router/firewall or unraid server.

As mentioned a couple of posts above, if you want to install OpenVPN on unraid, you can check this video

Let me know if you're referring to a different scenario.

Pretty sure it is asking for your server's NAT IP on your local wi-fi network.

When having more than one server in the app, and one is offline, the app will try refreshing that offline one constantly. Can you make a timeout, if the app havent reached the server within a periode og time, maybe 5sec and mark that server as offline?

Running iOS, 6.3.2 and 2.4.1

v2.4.2 is available as an over-the-air release (won't appear in the App Store nor Play store)

Changes:

On 6.3.x servers, the app will now inkove power down on the server without
stopping the array first. This is because the power down procedure in that
version, tries to stop the array first.

Additionally, when refreshing servers, the app checks if a server is down
first, to avoid unnecessary waits.

Also in this release:
- General improvements and bug fixes

I'm still looking into the white spaces reported by wgstarks.

@perhansen, this should fix the issue you mentioned.

Note: with over-the-air releases, you should see a red badge on the settings icon, just click on settings and follow the instructions (restart the app)

Perfect. Thanks for the update.

What do you mean, when you say that the app will now invoke powerdown on the server without stopping the array first?
Will the power down then stop the array and do a clean shutdown?

Yes, as per this comment

For 6.3.x, the app is basically calling /sbin/poweroff (as if you were invoking it from a terminal)

What unRAID version are you running ?

I tried on a 6.3.0 and it's working fine.

Hey jbrodriguez, I'm on unraid version is 6.3.2

Just checked it again today to make sure and it still has the problem. After enabling the slider "Yes I want to do this" then array stop button is still disabled.

Oh ok ! I thought you meant that the array wasn't actually stopping.

Sure, let me check what could be the issue there.

My ControlR v2.4.0 doesnt find my servers any more. I'm running it on my mobile. How does OTA uodate work so i can upgrade the app itself?

Hi skylark, you should upgrade first to v2.4.1 which was a regular release (on the App/Play store).

In any case, for ota releases, you should see a red badge on the settings icon, just click on settings and follow the instructions (restart the app)
