June 8, 201610 yr So I have had my Unraid server working for about a year, last night, No connection. Hooked server up to monitor, keyboard and mouse, no display. Did a Reset on the server, when it began to boot up my monitor showed, " SYSLINK 6.03 EDD 2014-10-06 Copyright © 1994-2014 H. Peter Anvin et al" and just sits there. I removed the flash drive and rebooted, I can get to Win 7. Shut down, inserted flash drive, restarted and got same "stuck" message. Is my stick somehow corrupted?
June 9, 201610 yr Author I did run chkdsk on the drive, no errors. Tried it again last night with the same result. No error message while trying to load, it just sits there. Should I wipe the flash drive and reload the Unraid files? Will I have to re-verify my subscription? Any chance of messing up my server setup? Little nervous, I have (4) 4TB drives in my setup.
June 9, 201610 yr Community Expert Are you sure it is really trying to boot from the unRAID flash drive? What do you mean by this? ... I removed the flash drive and rebooted, I can get to Win 7... Do you mean that this same server has a Win 7 installation you can boot up? If so, are you sure your Win 7 installation has not altered the flash or any of unRAIDs storage?
June 9, 201610 yr Author Rebooting the server unit via the power button or reset button. With my Unraid flash drive out of the server, when I power up the server, I go to Windows 7. I do a shut down, power off. Insert my Unraid flash and power up, I get the afore mentioned message on the monitor and the unit just sits there.

You could try running the make_bootable.bat again. If that does not work, follow the instructions here to rebuild your Flash Drive without losing your configuation: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39032.0 Be sure that you backup your Flash Drive before you start and use that backup to copy over the configuration files after you format and install the OS on the drive. You will (of course) need your key file so make sure you have it in a safe place! By the way, the whole process would be much simpler if you had a backup copy of your Flash Drive stored in a safe place for just such an situation. To make such a backup after you get everything working again, just stop the array and copy the contents of the Flash Drive to another computer.
June 9, 201610 yr Author Well, running the "make bootable bat file failed,......................so I am reading thru the "upgrade" instructions. Will post how this turns out. I thought I had backed up my flash drive, but can't find it........lesson learned.
