June 12, 201610 yr I'd like to know as well. I like observium, its to bad its gone. Sent from my XT1094 using Tapatalk
June 13, 201610 yr Author telegraf looks good to me, been awhile since i pull from a repo been sticking to CA
July 26, 20169 yr Is it easy to update the docker container to the latest version of observium CE? Can one do a 'docker run' type script with the update from: http://www.observium.org/docs/updating/#community-edition I'd like the option to add custom oid which I think is in the latest one.

Zuhkov appears to be permanently MIA, so I wouldn't hold your breath on updates to the container itself (unless holding your breath becomes an olympic sport, then go for it). (The only reason that this app (or the other apps within Zuhkov's repository) aren't blacklisted within CA is that AFAIK they are still functional -> or at least nobody has told me otherwise) Your best bet TBH would be to enable dockerHub searches within CA (Settings - CA settings) and then do a search for observium and try experimenting with the other containers which are listed)
July 26, 20169 yr Thanks. Still works good but without the apparent new function of being able to add custom oid. I'll try it in a full Ubuntu vm I think before venturing with custom Dockers. Thanks for pointers though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 27, 20169 yr I changed to using a librenms docker template that I have working with some tweaking. I am using the jarischaefer/docker-librename container. I can share it soon once I have scripted some of the changes or might write the changes to the container I made to get it working on unraid. If you are unfamiliar with librenms it is a fork of observium and you can migrate your existing rrd data from observing to it by copying the rrd files. There is a guide linked in the librenms wiki which outlines the steps and has a script. I didn't use the script, I manually copied the rrd files as I felt this was easier for my situation. There is also a librenms vm appliance on their website if you want to use that. So far I have found librenms to be better than observium.
July 27, 20169 yr Good stuff. I liked zukhof container because it had all in one, database and dash in one. With librenms would I also need a database container? It just gets more complicated? Did you get the hd temps to show in librenms? And the share free space? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
July 27, 20169 yr Author im downloading the VMDK going to try it on vmware workstaion. If is good I will use it on my unraid.
July 27, 20169 yr Still no hard drive temperatures but from my understanding of librenms they are far more open to changes/improvements. The librenms container that I used used a separate mysql container, I already had one in place so that wasn't an issue for me. I have attached my docker template for anybody who is interested in playing around. There are a few initial manual steps that need to be done to get this working: [*]Setup mysql container [*]add librenms mysql user [*]create the databases from the librenms container [*]add the admin user to librenms [*]copy, modify and link the /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/librenms.http from the appdata folder to stop listening on IPv6 This is far from ideal but is working fine for me. my-librenms.txt
