SSD Cache 2x Different sized drives

Featured Replies

Wondering what the best way to go about this is.

I have a 250gb and 500gb SSD. By default they are put into RAID1 in the cache pool, which wastes a fair bit of SSD cache.

Ideally, I think I'd like to just RAID0 my cache drives. Is that just a case of re-balancing the btrfs pool to RAID0 rather than RAID1?

Or, should I make the 250gb drive the "Cache" and assign the 500gb drive as a regular drive but exclude it from all my shares but a single share called "SSD Share" or something?

Thanks

use "-dconvert=raid0 -mconvert=raid1" in the cache balance section - you wont get multi disk protection - it will put both drvies together into a raid0 config
