Cache Questions

Featured Replies

Hello-

My cache is running 4x SSD's as you can see below, running 4x SSDs of 250gb or larger size, shouldn't my cache size be 500gb?

I think there's something wrong with Cache 4 as that one never gets written to, and I can't pre-clear it when the array is off and it's unassigned, pre-clear says it's busy. Also if I start the array with Cache 4 unassigned my cache is not mountable - how can I get this sorted out?

Click on cache and post the info that appears on "btrfs filesystem show".

Yep, cache 4 is not being used, this should fix it:

-backup your cache just in case

-unassign all cache disks

-change cache slots to 1

-click cache and set filesystem to reiserfs

-assign cache4 only (sdk) to cache slot

-star array and format cache

-stop array

-change cache slots back to 4

-assign the first 3 cache disks only and start array, check if it mounts, if still doesn't mount you'll have to preclear cache 4

-if it mounts, stop array, add cache 4, start array, wait for balance to finish, you can check progress on cache page

-if ok "btrfs filsystem show" has to display "Total devices 4"

Thank you so much! Things got a little dicey there for a bit but I think I've got everything sorted out now.
