KB36
Does my dream case exist? My mobo and my two sata cards give me a total of 16 sata connectors. My current case can only hold 14 drives (12x 3,5" 2x 2,5" hdd's) If i wasn't on a budget i would buy a Coolermaster Cosmo II in a heartbeat. http://www.coolermaster.com/case/full-tower/cosmos-2/ I kinda like the nanoxia deep silent 6 rev b also. But there might be a problem with air intake behind the top door. (if a 4in3 drive cage is mounted) http://nanoxia-world.com/en/products/cases/deep-silence-series/deep-silence-6-rev.-b/209/deep-silence-6-rev.-b-dark-black?c=40 I have had Antec before, and got quite exited when i saw the price point on the Antec 1900. But this case get's so bad reviews that it has scared me away. http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=706725&fid=4&lan=us I've tried to find alternatives, but haven't had any luck. I would like to re-use the 4in3 drive cage, but it isn't a must. what i'm looking for is a case with. - Good airflow - 10x 3,5" internal drive bays + 3x 5,25" bays that can be converted to the 4in3 cage (isn't an ultimate demand) 2x 2,5" bays (have 1x 2,5" SSD i use as a cache drive) - A case that's on the european market - Side mounted drive bays, have been a real nice thing on my current case. I'm not looking for top to bottom front hot swap drive bays. Internal bays will do just fine. My system at the moment. KB36
Ofc there are. But you need to specify a budget. Approx 200 - 250 euro The nanoxia ds6 rev b costs 227 euro The antec 1900 costs 138 euro The cosmos II costs 320 euro Sendt fra min Nexus 6P med Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
KB36
The fractal define xl was a fine case too, with 10 internal bays. They have changed it in the new R2 version, that only carry 8 internal bays. ? Sendt fra min Nexus 6P med Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
gert
Nanoxia deep silence 1 rev B. has 11x 3.5 and 3x 5.25 bays, that should make it possible to added 16 drives. http://nanoxia-world.com/en/products/cases/deep-silence-series/deep-silence-1-rev.-b/206/deep-silence-1-rev.-b-dark-black My thoughts on it as storage server case: It reminds me a lot of the fractal R4, just slightly taller and slightly slimmer, although i find the build quality if DS1 rev b. slightly lower, especially on the side panels they are not sturdy enough. You will need a rather short PSU to be able to use all 11 internal 3.5 bays The 3x 3.5 bay can be easily switched to a 5x2.5 bay (also included) Quote Link to comment

Frank1940
Have you looked at the Antec Twelve Hundred V3. It has 12- 5.25" External bays and 1- 2.5" Internal bay. With four 5-in-3 cages, you could get 20- 3.5 HD's and one internal SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129100&cm_re=antec-_-11-129-100-_-Product Not quite sure what the final cost (because the choice of the cage(s) would be a big part of the cost) would be but it is an option.
