Recommended method of disabling FTP and Telnet

Featured Replies

unRAID6.0.1

Recently switched from unRAID5 to unRAID6, one of things I use to do is disable telnet and FTP.

With unRAID6 I have gone to FTP > then Help, and it states that if no names are specified then FTP is disable, I have no names specified, yet the STATUS is still shown as running, which contradicts the instructions. I can also see that port 21 is still open and listening, along with telnet on port 23.

What is the recommended way of disabling FTP and telnet?

Upgrade to unRAID version 6.1.9 and you can stop the FTP service from the GUI.

And I think I saw in a screen grab from someone running a 6.2 beta a prompt to disable Telnet too.
