July 1, 201610 yr I originally had a 320GB cache drive, and wanted to replace this with a 2 x 250GB cache pool instead Instead of adding the 2 new disks, mounting the old cache drive in unallocated devices and then copying the cache drive contents, I thought that I'd be clever but it has backfired on me. To the orginal cache drive, I stopped the array and added a 250GB additional cache drive & the array balanced automatically. This showed a cache pool of 2 drives I then added a third cache drive, selected 3 slots, cache drives autobalanced again. This showed a cache pool of 3 drives I then powered down the array, removed the orginal cache drive. The array balanced the cache pool to two drives. This shows a cache pool of 2 drives However the orginal cache drive is listed as disk not installed, with the array showing 3 slots have been selected (there is no option to choose 2 slots). I had hoped that after the original cache drive had been removed and the remaining 2 drives balanced, that it would reduce the number of slots to 2 At the moment I have Cache Not Installed Cache1 250GB Cache2 250GB How do I delete the record, and slot, of the original cache disk? I am running 6.2b23
July 1, 201610 yr Community Expert You can reassign the cache disks to the first 2 slots and then change the number of slots to 2.
