MoveFile Support via SMB not available? Weird or what?

Featured Replies

I'm running a Win 10 app (www.goodsync.com) that backs up to SMB shares on unRaid 6.1.9.  According to the developer, GoodSync supports working in an elevated mode.  But unraid is reporting "The specified server cannot perform the requested operation. (error 58)"

So it means that the share does not allow the MoveFile operation - even when client runs elevated.

This is from the client GoodSync log...

- ERROR: Cannot move destination file to history folder: //HUNTERNAS/documents/_gsdata_/_saved_/Downloads/winx-dvd-copy-pro (1).exe: Access is denied. (error 5); Elevated MoveFile: server said: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation. (error 58)

Win 10 runs SMB v3 and I originally had to patch the registry to allow insecure connections...which worked up until a month or so ago.  Does anyone know if this sounds like an SMB v3 support issue?  i.e. 6.2 should resolve?

Try it using a disk share and not a user share.

Odd...  Did the following

On Documents share

1. copy file goodsync-linux-x86_64-release.run - got this error

width=200http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20160707-9eku-148kb.jpg[/img]

2. copy same file to cache drive - copied from Win10 to Unraid cache drive just fine.

3. copy same file to other shares - copied from Win10 to Unraid shares just fine.

4. renamed .run file to .zip copied from Win10 to documents folder share - got same error

5. renamed .run file to .txt -  from Win10 to Unraid documents share, file copied

6. renamed .txt file to .run -  from Win10 to Unraid documents share, file copied...

7. downloaded fresh copy of .run file -  from Win10 to Unraid documents share, file copied no issues...

No idea what is going on...
