July 10, 20169 yr I was given a spare drive that I was going to use as a cache drive and put it in my other server (did not pre-clear it, thought I'd let unraid do it [think it was already formated though]). When I turned my server on I got the little orange balloons one said: unRAID Cache disk SMART health [5]: 10-07-2016 15:56 Warning [sERVER] - reallocated sector ct is 4 SAMSUNG_HM251JJ_S1KTJD0S207879 (sde) unRAID Cache disk SMART health [197]: 10-07-2016 15:56 Warning [sERVER] - current pending sector is 7892 SAMSUNG_HM251JJ_S1KTJD0S207879 (sde) unRAID Cache disk SMART health [198]: 10-07-2016 15:56 Warning [sERVER] - offline uncorrectable is 24461 SAMSUNG_HM251JJ_S1KTJD0S207879 (sde) While they are all a bit worrisome, the "uncorrectable" part of the last one really got me. I wasn't sure what to post in terms of logs, so I just posted what I think is the SMART output from Main -> Cache Settings -> Attributes Raw read error rate 0x000f 100 100 051 Pre-fail Always Never 2 3 Spin up time 0x0007 252 252 025 Pre-fail Always Never 3312 4 Start stop count 0x0032 096 096 000 Old age Always Never 48982 5 Reallocated sector count 0x0033 100 100 010 Pre-fail Always Never 4 9 Power on hours 0x0032 080 080 000 Old age Always Never 10888 (1y, 2m, 26d, 16h) 12 Power cycle count 0x0032 099 099 000 Old age Always Never 1195 191 G-sense error rate 0x0032 100 100 000 Old age Always Never 1530 192 Power-off retract count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old age Always Never 188 194 Temperature celsius 0x0022 133 052 000 Old age Always Never 35 (min/max 3/62) 196 Reallocated event count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old age Always Never 37646 (0 7) 197 Current pending sector 0x0012 100 100 000 Old age Always Never 7892 **** 198 Offline uncorrectable 0x0030 100 100 000 Old age Offline Never 24461 199 UDMA CRC error count 0x0036 252 252 000 Old age Always Never 0 200 Multi zone error rate 0x000a 252 252 000 Old age Always Never 0 254 Free fall sensor 0x0032 100 100 000 Old age Always Never 33554470 All this but when I clicked the button along side the "Last SMART test result:" I get "Completed without error" ... Thoughts?
July 10, 20169 yr The most worrisome is the current pending sectors of 7892. Sorry to say, but that drive is toast and should be thrown promptly in the garbage.
