July 13, 20169 yr Community Expert The RES2SV240 is a SAS expander, not a SAS controller, it needs to be connected to a SAS controller to work.

July 16, 20169 yr How much bandwith do you loose when you connect the RES2SV240 to a M1015. How much does it help when connected through 2 SFF8087 cables? Does this bandwith loss hurt unraid performance?

Does this bandwith loss hurt unraid performance? When I ran a test with one of my servers and 2 IBM M1015s for one test of 16 Seagate ST3000DM01 drives verses the same 16 drives on a Intel RES2SV240 with a single cable to one of the M1015s (so slowest speed) it was a 25% loss.
