Correct method for a cache-only folder for appdata for docke in unraid 6.2 beta

Featured Replies

Hi guys, so the method for making cache only folders seems to have evolved through unraid 4,5 and 6.. And being a new user on beta 6.2 and not being able to distinguish the correct method through the existing posts i thought id ask. Sorry if it does exist for 6.2 beta...

I was looking for a cache-only option but couldn't find one for settings appdata to be persistant on cache and untouched by mover.

Do i set "Use cache" and then add each disk to the exclude list?

Do i use midnight commander to create the folder? or should i let docker create the folder to avoid future permissions issues etc?

Wasn't sure whether prefixing folders with '.' was still a valid method?

If someone can confirm that would be awesome! Just want to follow best practice in the early stages! :D

Will i need to enable "User Shares" to create a share called appdata on cache?

I'm not seeing any option to create shares at all on the cache...

Yes, you have to enable User Shares.
