UPS: Optiups clever series help needed using NUT

Featured Replies

I have an OptiUPS clever series UPS and APCUPSD doesn't work with it (which I didn't think it would).

From my syslog

Jan 6 21:46:59 Backup kernel: usb-storage: device found at 2

Jan 6 21:46:59 Backup kernel: usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning

Jan 6 21:46:59 Backup kernel: usb 5-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2

Jan 6 21:46:59 Backup kernel: usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

Then using unmenu ups status

(from /sbin/apcaccess status)

Error contacting host localhost port 3551: Connection refused

I've searched the web a bit but am not that linux savy.  One page I found suggested using http://www.networkupstools.org/ but I don't know where to start.  Where would I find the right package to intall?

Thanks

I found a package that was compiled for openbsd.  When I tried to install it I get an error.

Verifying package nut-2.2.1p0.tgz.

Installing package nut-2.2.1p0.tgz:

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION:

WARNING:  Package has not been created with 'makepkg'

http://www.openbsd.org/4.4_packages/sparc64/nut-2.2.1p0.tgz-contents.html

Is there a way to recompile it? Or do I need to find the source and how can I package it?

Well, unRAID is linux based (Slackware if I remember rightly), so I'd start with a linux solution if possible rather than BSD.
