Advice: S.M.A.R.T. values on my 4 TB WD Green

Featured Replies

I have set up Unraid half a year ago and my array of mixed drives (see signature) has been running fine ever since.

The weekly parity checks have always been clean, but the next one will start tonight. Over the last 3 days the following S.M.A.R.T. value increases have been reported by my disk2:

Current_Pending_Sector 4

Offline_Uncorrectable 4

I have been worried, but their Old_age Type has calmed me a bit.

Last night my Multi_Zone_Error_Rate increased from 0 to 9.

Should I be worried? My complete report is attached.

In any case, what should my next steps be?

I plan to upgrade this drive to another 8 TB archive HDD, but my budget is not quite there yet.

Thus, should I go for the upgrade right away?

Do I need to stop writing parity checks to my parity disk, because of those erroneous sectors?

Should I shut down my server right now, or should I just keep watching the stats over the next weeks?

Thank you for any input  :-[

Disk has pending sectors and failed a extended SMART test, it should be replace ASAP.

Don't do any parity checks before replacing it.

I anticipated as much. Disabled my scheduled check & to overnight shipping it is!  :-\

Thanks for the confirmation.
